TORREMOLINOS may seem quite different from other Spanish towns with its burlesque seaside resort charm. It offers the tourist miles of sandy beaches with infinite shopping pleasures for the shopaholics and lively genuine Irish pubs. It is quite heavily populated with British, Scandinavian and German expatriates.

Accommodation

With its wide range of activities, Torremolinos offers many good quality accommodations in the form of hostels, campsites and hotels. Many are close to the beach but are affordable.

With more tourists coming in, many older Torremolinos hotels undergo a makeover to prepare for the increased demand of tourists. This is a good move which gives a fresher look to the environment.

Top Hotels

Sol Principe is the town’s affluent hotel which offers outdoor pools that are lagoon-style, pleasant tropical gardens and even an indoor heated pool. Close to the Playamar Beach which is barely 100 metres away, this is a popular hotel. Another popular and luxurious hotel found here is the Royal Al Andalus which is located at the center of Costa del Sol and offers sun and fun the whole year. It is found in the La Carihuela district which is famous for the delicious fried fish cuisine in this region. This luxurious hotel boasts an outdoor pool, buffet restaurant, landscaped gardens and closeness to the beach. Its gardens are beautifully landscaped for your relaxation while the 2 minute walk to the beach provides an instant view of the clear Mediterranean Sea. With the city center at a close 700 metres, this hotel is most suitable for the visitor who wants a quick walk to the shops, restaurants and bars.

Yet another luxury hotel is the Melia Costa del Sol which is located right in front of the beach offering great sea views. With an outdoor swimming pool, free gym and Wi-Fi, this hotel offers guests great opportunities to relax or workout in its wellness centre at a small cost. With the availability of a Jacuzzi, sauna, hydromassage pool and Hammam, it is well worth the cost in pampering yourself after a good day of discovery at Torremolinos.

There are many smaller, budget accommodations that one can spend a night or two at Torremolinos.


Gastronomy

Torremolinos offers many great places for fresh seafood in local recipes. Besides the menu at hotels, there are plenty of eateries that serve fresh fish and local seafood cuisine in the Costa del Sol region or the Carihuela district at the beach area which is just west of town.
